Three questions for Monika Frank, our new Communications and Sustainability Manager
From October 2024, Monika Frank takes on the role of Communications and Sustainability Manager at AF Bostäder. Monika is well-acquainted with both the organisation and student life in Lund, and she brings over 20 years of experience in areas such as communication, rental services, and customer service at AF Bostäder. Now joining the management team, she shares her insights on what this new role entails.
Hi, what are you looking forward to in your new job?
At AF Bostäder, communication and sustainability are high priorities and are closely linked. This is partly because we have an engaged customer base and partly because we set high standards for both customer satisfaction and sustainability. We aim to improve even further in these areas, and I’m looking forward to driving that work forward together with my colleagues.
What challenges does AF Bostäder face?
Students are mobile and flexible, which requires us to stay on top of current market trends, housing needs, and preferences. Our goal is always to be Sweden's best student housing provider, and that involves actively listening to both our customers and other stakeholders. Communication-wise, students are primarily digital, so we must be where they are. At the same time, we want to meet them in person by focusing on service, security, wellbeing, and mental health. Looking ahead, exciting new perspectives will emerge on social issues and various aspects of sustainability.
How do you view your role in the management team?
I have worked extensively in teams at AF Bostäder, led various projects, held personnel and department responsibilities, and in recent years, worked closely with management. Now, I’m eager to apply my experiences as part of a leadership group that is both committed and responsible, and for which I have a great deal of trust. It's inspiring to take on broader responsibility for the organisation, to drive initiatives that matter to students and AF Bostäder, and to support my fantastic colleagues in their continued development.
