Limited rent increase at AF Bostäder
Despite rising costs and continued uncertainty about the future, the rent increase for AF Bostäder’s tenants will remain at 3% from 1 January 2025.
Next year’s increase is in line with recent rent adjustments, enabling continued investment in essential maintenance. Among the many projects are sewer pipe replacements in several housing areas, as well as window replacements and corridor kitchen renovations.
“With steady rent development, we have the opportunity to address the many needs of our older properties,” says Henrik Krantz, CEO of AF Bostäder.
AF Bostäder is also continuing its development of new student housing, primarily at Kämnärsrätten in northern Lund, where 900 new homes have been completed in recent years. Currently under construction is Troja, AF Bostäder’s largest initiative since the 1960s. Troja, set to be completed in 2026, will provide accommodation for no fewer than 500 students.
“With these investments at Kämnärsrätten, we are contributing to the housing needs of future generations and enhancing Lund’s appeal as a study destination,” says Henrik Krantz.
“Unfortunately, the economic challenges we have been dealing with for a few years persist and will continue to affect us next year,” says Henrik Krantz. “In addition to this, there are significant price increases in heating, electricity, and water. However, our overarching goal remains unchanged: We will continue to offer Lund students the best student housing in Sweden.”
