“Korregrannen Pet” wins Student-Mello 2026

March 4, 2026

It’s decided! Hedda from Parentesen and Gabriella from Delphi take the win with their joint entry about life in a student corridor, Olympic fever and their passion for Melodifestivalen.

Hedda and Gabriella love Melodifestivalen. They used to watch it with their families. After moving to Lund, they created a new tradition and now watch it together in their student accommodation.

Their winning entry draws on both Olympic excitement and corridor life. Even when the sense of community is strong, opinions can differ. In their performance, tensions rise in the shared kitchen, mirroring the heated atmosphere between Sweden and Canada in the men’s curling.

But the solution is simple: Melodifestivalen.

The corridor kitchen becomes neutral ground where neighbours gather, cheer, sing along and reconnect. And the banana everyone argues about (inspired by Sean Banan)? It is eaten by a third party, underlining the message: it’s far more fun to enjoy a Melodifestivalen night together than to argue over small things.

The jury’s statement:

With a well-crafted storyline, festive finger-point choreography in true 90s style and energy that spreads through the room, this year’s winners deliver an entry that hits all the right notes. “Korregrannen Pet” celebrates both corridor life and Melodifestivalen, complete with references to feather boas, disco lights and Sean Banan.

The entry captures the viral curling dispute and shows a strong sense of the moment. The fact that students from different areas joined forces adds extra credit. The result is an entertaining performance filled with warmth, humour and community spirit.

Congratulations to Hedda and Gabriella! Thank you for showing that the corridor kitchen is not just a place for cooking, but for community.
