Exemption from the study and membership requirements

Housing applicants and tenants are entitled to a total of one semester’s exemption from the study and membership requirements.

AF Bostäder rents out housing to active Lund students who fulfill the study and membership requirements. However, sometimes things do not go according to plan. A person may, for example, miss a major exam or quite simply want to take a leave from studies. Therefore, everyone is entitled to a total of one semester’s exemption from the study and membership requirements during their period on the housing list and as a tenant. Normally, the requirements must be fulfilled both before and after the semester of exemption.

In certain cases, further exemptions may be granted. The assessment is restrictive and the general rule is that it is not a voluntary leave from studies. In general, further exemptions are only granted for parental leave and compulsory military service.

Tenants who are late with the rent more than once lose the opportunity to apply for an exemption from the study and membership requirement.
