Welcome to Pireus – inviting, secure and Nordic Swan eco-labelled
At Pireus, well-being and a sense of community take centre stage, but so does the calm of a secluded setting and a sound and climate-friendly living environment. Pireus is in the Kämnärsvägen area in the north of Lund and part of a larger campus environment in which sustainability and well-being are top priorities. Pireus takes its name from the Greek port outside Athens. And, just as on the coast of Greece, it is Lund’s ’s Pireus that is the portal for the area and welcomes visitors to Kämnärsrätten.
Pireus is a living quarter made for social activities, with pleasantly designed courtyard environments, lots of trees and greenery, spaces for sport and games, a lounge, study rooms and access to a bicycle repair room. The quarter is also directly adjacent to Campuskilen, a park-like pedestrian thoroughfare with facilities such as an outdoor gym, boule court and places to grill and chill. Of course, an active life requires a good balance and therefore Pireus also focuses on your personal sphere. Here, it is easy to find calm and seclusion, both among the cosy screened-off areas in the courtyards and in your own accommodation, which is designed to provide good studying conditions and restful nights.
The area opened in 2023 and consists of five different buildings, varying from three to eight stories, with white facades, black sheet metal features and playfully positioned drainpipes. The 223 student apartments provide space for up to 300 students. There are one-room apartments for those who wish to live alone and larger apartments that are perfect for 2-3 friends who want to live together. The bedrooms in these apartments for friends have space for both a bed and a study place.
The student housing is Nordic Swan eco-labelled and promises everything from low climate impact, low energy consumption, solar cells, eco-friendly materials, sedum roofs and a sound indoor environment to good conditions for supporting students’ bicycle usage.
At Pireus, you live close to Lund University’s Faculty of Engineering (LTH) and School of Economics and Management. Student nation life, the university’s departments and the centre of Lund are all within easy cycling distance. The local amenities include a supermarket, pharmacy, parcel collection centre, gym, swimming pool, green spaces and exercise track.
The laundry room is located at Kämnärsvägen 5. You have access to a games room with a table tennis table, pool table and dartboard on Kämnärsvägen 49 F.
The rent includes electricity, hot water, detergent, storage space, a personal bicycle parking space under cover and 1 Gb internet. There are no TV sockets.
As an AF Bostäder tenant, you always live in a smoking-free environment. Smoking is prohibited in both the accommodation and the communal spaces such as stairwells and laundry rooms.
